The exhibition Airer at DRAC Art actuel consisted of Léna Mill-Reuillard’s video installation shot at dusk during a residency at the Grantham Foundation. Projected on six big size screens, the installation transposes the spatial organization of the foundation’s building situated near Drummondville.

To capture the space, Mill-Reuillard placed a camera inside each of the building’s six windows. Each camera simultaneously filmed her activity and recorded the ambient sound. We watch her moving through the building, from one room to the next, strolling on walkways from inside to outside and back again. We witness her moments of stopping and contemplating, and her gestures of apprehending the space. As she turns toward the building’s windows, she underlines the architecture’s openings to the environment and the machine for seeing that the building embodies in the environment. She also inhabits the building as if it were the chamber, light or dark, of a still or film camera…
