Julianknxx exhibits regularly at the art centre in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation cultural complex in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2023, he presented a poetic performance, Black Corporeal, in the foundation’s garden amphitheatre in the heart of the city. He returned in 2025 with Chorus in Rememory of Flight, a project commissioned by the Barbican Centre, in London, and WeTransfer’s WePresent platform, in partnership with the foundation.

This ambitious project was first mounted at the Barbican Centre. The main work in Lisbon, from which the exhibition takes its title, it is an eloquent example of Julianknxx’s artistic commitment to giving voice to manifestations of the African diaspora in European cities.
