Fragiles is the most recent project of Tendance Floue, a French collective founded in 1991 that today comprises sixteen photographers – thirteen men and three women – with varied visual signatures. Although each member practises independently, the collective regularly produces joint projects – exhibitions and publications – that bring their works into dialogue not so much to tell truths as to ask questions about the world’s future. They also take on institutional missions and organize events involving experience and performance; for instance, azimut (2017), a photographic journey by foot, promoted creative freedom throughout France. Tendance Floue invited researchers, illustrators, authors, and other photographers to participate in that project, expanding a stream of thought to which collective action had already contributed.
