In today’s crisis situation, forests are being reshaped or destroyed, subjected to drastic human interventions and major catastrophes, and so a book on the relationship between photography and forests bears the promise of linking art to an exigent reality. In Quand la photo­gra­phie pense la forêt. Des années 1980 à nos jours, the French expert on contemporary photography Danièle Méaux combines photographic groupings with her thoughts on the many ways that photography can shed light upon these ecosystems, beyond simply the fascination that they arouse.

Claire Moeder is an author. Her texts intermixing poetic essay and critique, have appeared in magazines (Spirale, Vie des arts, Ciel variable), artist’s books (Janie Julien-Fort, Les paysages éphémères, 2023; La Société des archives affectives, Ad Astra, 2021), and exhibitions. She has also published her own books blending poetry and photography (Le ventre des roches, Le Noroît, 2024; les microéditions les marcheuses, 2024; nos voix de roches, 2022).
