[EXCERPT]
At Centre SAGAMIE, in Alma, the artist Yann Pocreau presented the second iteration of a project previously shown at AXENÉO7, in Gatineau, in 2023. The logical follow-up to Fantasmes colorés, Des images-lumière took a similar trajectory, but with a completely new configuration. The space-time transposition shows Pocreau’s capacity to build photographic, filmic, and scenographic ambiences. With this recent corpus, he reorganizes his explorations of light, both artificial and natural, with unexpected chromatic variations. Given the visually exquisite experience that he offers, one question resonates: what do we expect of images? Pocreau is fascinated by the idea of our anticipation about what we observe. In his view, we can find ourselves in and project ourselves into the imaginaries that they create.
